Welcome to the JewCL website, the internet home of the University College London Jewish Society. This brand spanking new website has been designed by the 2009-10 Jsoc committee to help all those old, and new fresher students learn about all the exciting things going on at UCL this year.

UCL has a long and prestigious history to it. It was the first university to be formally established in England outside of Oxford and Cambridge and provided a fresh alternative to those institutions' social exclusivity and religious restrictions. It wasn't so long ago that the benefits of university education in England were restricted to men who were members of the Church of England; UCL was founded to challenge that discrimination!(taken from www.ucl.ac.uk/about-ucl/history) So what better place to study in England and still maintain your Jewish roots!

The website has 4 main sections, all accessible from the links bar at the top of the page, underneath the logo header.

If you have any suggestions for events, charities, speakers and more things you would like to see Jsoc do this year - contact us! LET US KNOW! The committee is here for you, the Jewish students of UCL, to make everyone feel as comfortable as possible in and around university, and help you guys enjoy your few years (or more for you medics and architects out there...) here at UCL!

Happy Browsing
